Yet, he could not complete the courses till graduation (he returned to Italy due to his wife was expecting the child Alberto, who was born in March 5, 1990). <br \/><br \/>His PhD work\u00a0 done in Muenster, testified by four peer-reviewed articles published ( 3 as first author) in 1990-1991 (see the list below), was not recognized by the italian institution (namely, the Department of Experimental Medicine and Oncology) because of the opposition of the then Director of the Department and of the PhD Program Prof. Mario Umberto Dianzani, in disregard of the law that allowed to award the PhD title.
